The Pennine Way – Day 5 – Gargrave to Horton-In-Ribblesdale

We awoke this morning to sunshine beaming down on our encampment, I’d checked the weather in the wee small hours which I must admit boosted morale. The forecast for today was broken cloud, clearing in the afternoon and the wind was due to ease aswell. I’ll take that over yesterday’s weather any time 🙂

We had a relatively late start this morning, we had been cleaning our kit in the sinks and drying them with the hand drier. It was 09:45 by the time we set off again with items of gear attached to our rucksacks to dry. We re joined the way which weaves through farmland and then by the river all the way to Malham. It was nearly lunch time when we made it into Malham village, the sight of a cafe was too much to ignore so we stopped for bacon sandwiches.
